what is the format of a scrapbook?
i have a french project where i have to make a scrapbook of my family. so that each page is about one of my family members. can someone help me with what a scrapbook is supposed to look like?
also how can you make one without buying a kit? i would like to start from scratch.

First a note about the previous answers. NO CONSTRUCTION PAPER! Construction paper is not acid free, which is important for preserving your memories. If you’re going through the trouble of putting this together, it should last. No matter where you go for your supplies, buy acid-free scrapbook paper. Wal-Mart, Target, and Jo-Ann Fabrics all have scrapbook supplies. Pick colors and paper that speaks about that person as individual. There are papers, stickers, die cuts, embellishments, etc. on every theme possible.
About the book and project itself: Do what you want, how you want to do it.

Maybe start with a title page with a group picture
Then show your family person by person on a 2-page layout. Pictures of them doing things they are into/or at different ages. Journal near the pics and put a title on the family members page with their name. Remember that nobody knows them and you are telling a story about who they are.
